CITB Asbestos Awareness is a vital course for construction professionals, teaching the dangers of asbestos and how to avoid exposure risks. It provides essential information and processes to improve workplace safety, equipping delegates with the knowledge to protect themselves and others.

This course covers:

  • The dangers involved with Asbestos
  • Where Asbestos can be found
  • What appropriate action should be taken in the event of discovery
  • The correct use of RPE and be able to select the most appropriate PPE and RPE for the task

Delegates will be assessed via a written assessment.

CITB Abrasive Wheels is an important course to teach delegates of the dangers and correct procedures whilst working with Abrasive Wheels.

This course covers:

  • Hazards and injuries arising from use and precautions
  • Stone cutting and Silica dust
  • Health problems
  • Managing and reducing the risk from dust
  • PPE and RPE
  • HAVS – Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome
  • Wheel markings
  • Types of abrasive wheels
  • Other accessories and attachments
  • Wheel mounting procedure
  • Safe use and refuelling
  • Setting up bench and pedestal grinders
  • Wheel fitting – Hand-held and bench/pedestal types
  • Legal requirements, Inspection and pre-use checks
  • Damage and contamination, wheel dressing and hired tools
  • Storage and transportation

Delegates will be assessed via written and practical assessment.

CITB Low Risk Confined Space is vital to all those working in confined space. It teaches the delegates the procedures and practises to take whilst working in confined space for low risk areas.

This course covers:

  • The hazards associated with entry into confined spaces.
  • The legal duties of employers, self-employed persons and employees regarding confined spaces
  • The control measures required to ensure that work in confined spaces can be carried out safely and without risk to health.

Delegates will be assessed via a written assessment.

CITB Harness & Lanyard Training delves deep into the core principles and procedures whilst using Harness and Lanyard equipment.

This course covers:

  • The causes of accidents and how they may be prevented
  • Different inspection regimes and application
  • Systems of Work relevant to harness inspection
  • Inspection types
  • Inspecting lanyards and arresters
  • Inspecting securing points
  • Inspecting, recording, removing or rectifying unsuitable harnesses and equipment
  • Legislation relevant to harness inspection
  • How to store harnesses correctly
  • Using different techniques to inspect a range of equipment

Delegates will be assessed via written and practical assessment.

Manual Handling is a thorough course designed to ensure safe practises are used whilst in the work place.

This course covers:

  • Why correct technique is important
  • Manual handling hazards and risks
  • Preventing injury from manual handling
  • Remaining compliant
  • Importance of risk assessment
  • Applying risk assessment to manual handling
  • (T.I.L.E)

Delegates will be assessed via a written assessment.

The CITB Working at Height is a dynamic course that covers all safety aspects while working at heights.

  • The Work at Height Regulations 2005 requirements
  • Hierarchy of Control for Work at Height
